Rho Ophiuchi over Mount Rundle

Rho Ophiuchi hanging over the  Western Summit of Mount Rundle, April 20th wee hours. This beautiful stellar nursery, found just to the right of the Milky Way at the celestial equator, is visible from April until September on moonless nights. Its dark dusty clouds block much of the light it would otherwise emit from bright new stars and globular clusters. It forms the Ophiuchus constellation, the Serpent Bearer.
