Berg Lake is renowned for its beauty. The Berg glacier, which flows from the upper reaches of Mount Robson, was named as such for its habit of calving off ice into the lake. It has been doing so for as long as European explorers have known the lake to exist. We got to witness such events a few times, which is both exhilarating and sad; it won't be long before the glacier loses its grasp of the rocky shores of Berg lake, and retreats back towards the summit.
