A night under the stars often reveals a hidden reality. These moments are fleeting, as in this case. Rain clouds engulfed me shortly after taking this image, but perhaps it was all the more valuable an experience for how brief it was, and certainly the Alberta Wild Roses didn't mind the summer rain. Policeman's Creek can be busy on a morning sunrise, but it is a quiet place at night. As we left this location amidst the drizzle, we heard the whine of cougars in the trees nearby; a reminder of whose space this really is.
